This drawing, more than almost any other non-Moby-Dick drawing I have ever done, seems to provoke a wide array of responses. Many of them are often contradictory, which delights me. My wife, for example, finds his smile "horrifying."
Also, little known fact. Drawing directly based on a character I created as a kid named Mechagrub. The secret's out.

I love this guy. His perfect spheres are disturbing, his smile irresistible, his attendant tree oddly appropriate.
