So Scrap Princess, of the wonderful and amazing blog Monster Manual Sewn From Pants and I got into this thing. We were posting and sending comments back and forth about the Slaadi, those wonderful chaotic neutral frog monsters from the first Fiend Folio. I mentioned how they had always fascinated me and that after my little exploration into drawing the Devils (coming very soon), I might look into the Slaadi.
Oh, side note here. The plural used to be Slaadi, but now for some stupid reason it is the way less cool Slaads. Whatever.
Anyway, Scrap Princess mentioned how she dug the Slaadi too, but she thought that the game designers kind of wimped out on the different types of Slaadi by just calling them Red Slaadi, Green Slaadi, Blue Slaadi, etc. Which was an excellent point. She put forth that there should also be Radiant Slaadi, Bleached Slaadi, Dessicated Slaadi, Verminous Slaadi and Fizzing Slaadi. All of which sounded incredible. That got me thinking, and I put forth a few of my own, which included Prismatic Slaadi, Slangrel Slaadi, Spumescent Slaadi, Bleeding Slaadi, Mellifluous Slaadi and Quantophrenic Slaadi. Which Scrap Princess also seemed to think was pretty cool.
She left a comment saying she would totally race me to see who could finish drawing them first and then in, like, less than 24 hours had cranked out 11 incredible drawings of all the Slaadi we made up. Which you can, and absolutely must, see at this post here. To make the whole thing even better, she wrote up a few lines describing each of them in such magnificent ways. Easily one of the best blog posts ever, in all of human history, and I am dead serious about that.
Well, even though Scrap Princess kicked my ass in the Slaadi drawing race, I was delighted to have lost. Hers were all just phenomenal. However, it doesn't end there. I am much much much slower at making art than anyone I know, but the world will see my 11 Slaadi too. And maybe some more since I still want to do a Blue and a Red and so on. So the Solar Brothers will be temporarily interrupted now for 11 consecutive days (or maybe more) of Slaadi Madness!!!

I thought slaad was the singular and slaadi was the plural but then I think I have been using slaad as a plural too. Given that they are crazed frogs, I feel this is okay. I like to say Slaad really drawn out, like slaaaaaaad.
Grand grand grand!
I would have to agree with you. Given their nature as chaotic neutral Limbo-dwelling ambassadors of entropy, slaad or slaadi or slaads or slaaaaaaaaaad all seem fine to me. I think we could actually go on and on creating more and more too, which seems somehow dangerous.
