Very Nausicaa "God Warrior."
Huh. I can see that now, although for me it goes in a different direction. This Solar Brother was a bit of a cheat actually, a re-painting of the Pequod's carpenter (from here. But Miyazaki looms large in my mind so that carpenter is perhaps a hybrid of the God Warrior, Doctor Octopus, and my dad.
