It sometimes pains me to admit how severe my book fetish is. Very little in life thrills me like a beautifully created book, and covers are a big part of that. I could spend days and days discussing book covers, illustration, design, and favorites. The post below sharing just 10 of my favorite book covers is really the tip of the iceberg.
I suspect I am not alone though. I suspect that many of you who regularly visit this blog share my passion for book design, book covers, and illustration. So I would love to turn this Books: Covers We Like thing into a semi-regular feature on the blog and open it up to contributions from other people. Guest bloggers, you know?
Too many rules kill anything, so let's just go with these guidelines...
1) You can pick any number of your favorite covers, from 5 to 50.
2) These are not limited to book covers, and can include comics, magazines, zines, CDs, DVDs...really, anything at all that was packaged and intended for distribution. These don't have to be work safe, and can include just about kind of imagery as long as it is legal.
3) Rank them in order and write up anything from a few lines to a several paragraphs (whatever you want) about why you like each cover. This is the interesting part. Looking at art is always intriguing, but seeing the thinking behind it is much more fascinating.
4) Email me your list (mattkish87@gmail.com), your write-up, and JPGs of the cover images and I'll post them. Make sure you include as much info as you can (authors, artists, etc.)
5) Also send a brief bio of yourself, although you can include as much or as little info as you are comfortable with.
What's in it for you? I can't promise too much, but if you have a blog or a web site, I will be happy to link to it in the introduction to your guest post so hopefully others will visit there as well. Plus there tends to be a rather lively comment thread on posts like this so you might find yourself involved in some intriguing discussions.
I hope to get enough contributors to run a Books: Covers We Like post every other Wednesday. Word on the street is that Gigantic Joe Kuth is working on one, and I might be able to convince the mysterious RF to send one as well. I'll probably be sending some of you an email request as well.

looking forward to this being an ongoing thing!
It's gonna be good. Even if no one submits anything, there are about a million covers I could write about.
