This is one of the few "Character Wednesday" entries where I got to pick the character - a personal favorite of mine from the heady, silly days of Silver Ager Marvel Comics named the Shaper of Worlds. Did you know the Shaper began existence as an intelligent cube? No? Well, now you do.

Here is the Shaper as he appears in the comics. Pretty cool, huh?
Finally, here's the Shaper in action!

Two things, equally off-topic:
1. Have you seen this gallery of Lovecraftian monsters drawn by William Blake (under the pseudonym J. M. Bea)?

2. Did you say an intelligent cube?

Richard, I had not yet seen that Lovecraft gallery but Monster Brains is one of my favorite internet destinations and a literal treasure trove of images and inspirations so I would have eventually come across it. Lovecraft, I think, presents lots and lots of challenges for artists since his descriptions tend to be either nonexistent ("the thing that could not be described" etc) or almost impossible to visualize. Bea's work is definitely one of the better efforts and I especially like what i am guessing is a Mi-Go and the piece that I am almost certain is a Gug.
As for the other link...Jesus Christ. It's like seeing the origin of the Cosmic Cube, only in reality. I followed the link back to the Modus Medical Devices site and...wow. "The test is performed by aligning phantom containing radiopaque sphere with IGRT system." Seriously? I can't even begin to comprehend what any of this can mean.
