Emergency hiatus

Severe weather has caused extensive damage in central Ohio and hurled a tree branch through the wall of my house. There is no electricity and it is not supposed to be back until next Saturday, July 7 at midnight. I will have no access to the studio, a scanner, or a computer until then and extremely limited access to email. Signing off for now, hopefully back in a week.

  1. Oh, Matt, please post if there is anything I/we can do! Sending you thoughts of safety and healing (for the house & whatever was lost!)

  2. Sounds like you and your wife, at least, are safe and sound. That's something. Take care. Hope to see you back online soon.

  3. That's bad news, but fortunately no persons seem to be hurt.
(Try to) Enjoy the offline time - just like in the good old times, eh?
pencils, ball pens and paper WILL still be working, after all...

Nevertheless: All the best for a quick recovery across the ocean!

  4. I feel your pain. Good luck. Stay cool.

  5. Thank you, everyone, for the sincere good wishes and the words of wisdom. I've posted about the experience in the blog now, complete with pictures, and hopefully I was able to share some of our perspective on the entire event. It was frustrating, yes, and hot, miserable, and messy but we know how lucky we were and remain. In the end, we escaped with no real lasting damage, and no one was injured. That is what matters most. Had it not been for the stifling hear (a heat index in the low 100s for most of the week) it would have been an intriguing return to an earlier era.
