OTHER COMICS: Pilgrim, second iteration (2012, 10 pages, never completed)

Speaking of comics, before last spring's annual S.P.A.C.E. or Small Press and Alternative Comics show here in Columbus, I had hoped to create a wordless, sprawling science fiction comic of my own. It was to be a continuing exploration of some of the themes that I touched on in my first five page Pilgrim comic from 2004. Ultimately, this comic, which I tentatively titled Pilgrim, second iteration would have resembled a strange hybrid of Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey and late 1970s porn. Seriously.

Sadly, time was my enemy and I was never able to finish the comic, and I could sense that even after completing ten pages, the thing was spiralling out of control and well on its way to becoming a 50 or 60 page monster. I'll return to it someday, whether it is to complete this second iteration or to begin the third. I did finally scan the ten completed pages and, for posterity, I am posting them here. I still like them, and look forward to going further with this some day.
