While Miller was not an intentional influence on this piece, his hold over my imagination is so strong and goes back so far that I truly think nearly everything I do is in some ways touched by my fascination with and admiration for his work. He has this way of drawing monsters and dragons with that harsh, triangular head and jaw that I've never been able to shake. That comes through a lot in my work, and I think you can even find some elements of it in everything from my very first Spudd 64 comic from 2004 all the way to my Moby-Dick illustrations.Matt Kishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17854685960260054407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265792817762899253.post-19197940250719054552012-12-08T19:18:42.182-05:002012-12-08T19:18:42.182-05:00Matt, another fantastic piece. In particular, I'm thinking of his classic cover for The Martian Chronicles, which shares the triangular motif with this illustration. Anyway, great work, as always.Darahttp://www.daranaraghi.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1265792817762899253.post-31616307529222006052012-12-07T21:33:04.841-05:002012-12-07T21:33:04.841-05:00Superb!
