And thank you for the comment. This one was hard. I mean, "glistened like a living opal?" I didn't want to be too literal but I wanted to capture something of that. The white paint I use is so cheap and flimsy that anything underneath it bleeds right through, especially inks. I messed around with that a bit and tried to work down toward something that resembled the idea of a whale rather than simply the reality of a whale.
