I really like this picture. It's a really great interpretation of the line, and the linework and texture is just lovely. It's amazing that you evoked both the biological notion of a vein, and something undersea as well.

At times, the more conceptual passages from the novel are the ones that have been the easiest, or at least the most enjoyable, for me to illustrate. That is definitely the case with this piece. I do enjoy drawing massive monstrous whales, but I have to do that so many times that often I long for an image like this to work on.
