Title: At the crotch or junction, these flukes slightly overlap, then sideways recede from each other like wings, leaving a wide vacancy between. In no living thing are the lines of beauty more exquisitely defined than in the crescentic borders of these flukes.

Hi Matt, launch is imminent, I'm shattered by the production process and have you got the parcel yet?

to see your work on display - it's not exactly the front cover, but it's the one I've used, in isolation, for the frontispiece. Have you got any suggestions as to an introduction about you and your project that I can use in my introduction? I really want to say something about your work, as it's now integral to the book.
Titus, yes, the parcel did indeed arrive (wonderful!) and I owe you an apology for the delayed email. I have been literally swamped this week with work (I have a 90 minute drive to work and another 90 minute drive home, plus this week's birthday stuff) so I promise you a more thorough email by tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteDon't sweat it! Take the free time you've got very easy.
ReplyDeletehey matt - this is a thing of beauty!

Thank you Lizzyg, I was very pleased with how this one turned out, and I wasn't at all sure I would even like it until it was completely finished. My wife mentioned that it made her think of (and this is a quote) "some weird whale god." Which I quite liked.
ReplyDeleteThis one was drawn completely with two different gel pens and it took hours and hours and hours. So seeing that it turned out well made me feel a bit better about the length of time I poured into it.
