ReplyDeleteI often worry that it is perhaps too apparent what my influences are and what symbolism I work toward with these pieces. Sparks. Flame. Soot. Rough stone. Hephaestus. His cyclops assistants. Sometimes...well, actually, often, when I am working on a piece, I feel like it has been inside of me for many many years. These pieces just feel like this is the way "Moby-Dick" has always looked and it's only now that I am getting around to putting it on paper. Something for me to contemplate, I suppose.
