I love this one Matt! The drawings on the teeth are very cool.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThank you Christy, this one was very hard for me to conceptualize and for a very long time. I didn't want to do something completely literal, plus real scrimshaw is very beautiful and I didn't think there was anything to be gained by me just drawing scrimshaw. But I couldn't get past the idea that scrimshaw was done on real teeth, from the real mouth of a real whale, and from there this sort of naturally, although slowly, evolved.
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth, I was really pleased when I was finished. It took a long time to make all those little dots and lines, but the effort was worth it.
