  1. I thought I had worked all the "giant toothy screaming mouths" out of my system but...I guess not. I do think this will be the last one. For a while, anyway.

On the night I completed this and showed it to her, my wife experienced what can only be called a night terror. She was laying on her side, facing me, and said she felt as if she kept slipping in and out of wakefulness and sleep. She described being able to see me laying next to her very clearly, but was unable to move. Soon, she said she saw a huge black shape move over me and settle on her chest, and then she started to feel a weight pressing down on her, stifling her breath. She tried to cry out but was unable. This was only around 30 minutes after we had fallen asleep. I woke up hearing her gasping and moaning and then I woke her up as quickly as I could. She was really deeply shaken and had a hard time falling back to sleep. Later, she attributed the episode, at least partially, to this image which she seems to think is horrifying, ghoulish and evil. I'm not sure if I should take that as a compliment or be disturbed. Or both.
