  1. i really like this piece Matt. i know that as in all drawings a lot is left up to the viewers own interpretation and in this the drawings on God's hand appear to be figures engaged in different actions. as if God is reaching down to take away the sins or damning things commited by man. very nice.

  2. Thank you Christy. The strange detailings in the hand actually go back a long way. When I was young we went to a Catholic church that, instead of a more traditional statue of Jesus or the Crucifixion, had a really bizarre and very very modern silvery metal sculpture of Jesus that looked like a spaceship. I used to think of it as Spaceship Jesus. Since I never went to church much after that, my earliest impressions of Jesus and Mary and angels were of these half-human half-metal cosmic abstractions. Ever since then, when I draw something even vaguely religious I generally cover the skin with these little designs that to me call to mind electronic circuitry. Spaceship Jesus indeed.

  3. Ahhh, i have to tell you at first i thought the designs did look like some type of electronic circut componets off a schematic (my electronics background popping up) but the i thought they also looked like figures. spaceship Jesus. awesome idea.
