Title: Ere this, you must have plainly seen the truth of what I started with — that the Sperm Whale and the Right Whale have almost entirely different heads.

  4. This is amazing. Great canvas for it and the patterns are perfect.

  5. Thank you Joel. Working on this one was odd because it was two totally separate images. Usually I will have some inkling of the whole of the piece well before I finish, but since each of these whales is so unique and such a different half of the whole, the image was not fully revealed even to me until the final pen stroke.

  6. Thank you very much Titus. This is one of the first times I've attempted an image on purely decorative patterned endpaper. I really wasn't sure how it would look but I am very pleased with it.

  7. Hannah, I had not at all thought of that image (tattooed wings) until your comment, but that is brilliant. Thank you! One of the greatest joys of sharing this project and this art on a blog is reading about how others perceive the work, what they see in it, and how they react to it. I see something new through someone else's eyes quite often now, and that is an incredible experience.

  8. Aaron! It's been too long. Thank you for the compliments though. From an artist as skilled as you, that does make me very happy.
