Thank you Joel. It's funny, at first, when I completed this piece, I wasn't sure how I felt about it. And that is rare. Sometimes I liked it, sometimes I wished it was different. After a day or two passed though, and I saw it online, I started to really like it a lot. It has grown on me quite a bit since then, and I really do think it turned out quite well and is a marvelous visualization of the original line.
Excellent, Lizzy! That "totem-like" vigilance is what I have been hoping for, and working toward, with all of these Tashtego pieces. I think I finally got pretty close this time.
Gorgeous. Just gorgeous. This, I would buy. (Of course, I can say that about many of your other illustrations as well.)
