I have to say that this is arguably the single best juxtaposition of found paper and subject matter in the entire oeuvre. "AHAB CONQUERS" gave me chills.
Jake, the process of selecting the found paper was one that I can not easily find words to describe. So often, it seemed to be an almost intuitive process. I am often asked if I spent a great deal of time selecting specific pages for the art, and the answer is no. I did it quickly, sometimes subconsciously, and always trusting to some element of chance. This page came to the top of the pile at the perfect moment, and it was almost as if I was being sent some sort of message. It was too perfect to pass by, and I am very very pleased with the results.
