they do look meaner like that...
ReplyDeleteI think I prefer this one too, and like the perfect enclosure of the image, binding a world, or a void, within itself.
ReplyDeleteMeaner indeed, Lizzy, which is a bit of what I was hoping for. Also that rather dizzying sense of going round and round, in absolute futility.
ReplyDeleteTitus, that void comment did me so much good. I was not happy with the black background of the previous piece. The black seemed to enfold and enclose Ahab and the whale, which is not what I wanted. I wanted to show, as you wrote, the two of them enclosing a void. A futile pursuit with no goal centered on emptiness and nothingness.
